With the growing popularity of the ketogenic diet, it’s no surprise up-and-coming burger chain Burgerim decided to add a keto-friendly menu item to cater for the growing market.
Burgerim launched the new Keto Burger at 80 different outlets in California on Monday, October 7, after partnering with the keto-friendly start-up Unbun.
The new feature consists of a grain-free bun (5 grams carbs, 10 grams protein, and 12 grams fiber), two Burgerim patties, two cheese slices, and your toppings of choice.
Burgerim announced it plans to launch the Keto Burger nationwide sometime later this month.
Burgerim made a great choice with the launch, not only for business but for health as well. However, they’re by no means the only food chain to make that decision.
They follow closely in the footsteps of Chipotle Mexican Grill, Qdoba Mexican Eats, and Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises.
The latter, a multi-concept operator, recently launched a delivery-only initiative for selling Whole30 diet-approved entrees after partnering with Grub Hub.
As worldwide recognition of the keto diet continues to grow, we can expect to see more restaurants and food chains following suit.
Burgerim was recently crowned the fastest-growing small chain in 2019 by Restaurant Business, so it’s great to see them expanding on their already wide variety of protein-rich burger options with the new Keto Burger.
